The mission of Abe Brown Ministries is to compassionately demonstrate the Love of Christ by helping offenders, ex-offenders and their families to achieve productive and fulfilling lives. They also help them develop spiritual disciplines, learn life skills and prepare for gainful employment, which gives hope for sustaining their personal, family and financial futures. The end result is productive citizens in our communities, improving the quality of life for all.

Since 1972, AMIkids Pinellas has been dedicated to helping kids discover the potential within them, transform their lives and strengthen our community. Located in St. Pete Beach, Florida, AMIkids Pinellas empowers our kids through care and guidance to reach that potential and, as a result, breaks the cycle of failure and poverty.

Angels Against Abuse
The mission of the Angels is to build awareness and educate the community with regard to existing and/or potential neglect and abuse against children. To provide support, monetarily and through hands on volunteer hours to neglected and abused children who are removed from an abusive situation or are in danger of removal.

Backpacks4Kids (BP4K)
Backpacks4Kids started in 2013 with the mission of helping children in need by providing them with backpacks filled with school supplies. 2019 is BP4K’s seventh year supporting Title 1 schools in the Tampa Bay area, these schools have a large concentration of low-income students and sometimes lean on the support of the community.

Benedict Haven
Benedict Haven Inc., founded in 1998, provides a permanent supervised home with compassionate care for adults who have a severe and persistent mental illness. Benedict Haven is a private non-profit residential treatment facility dedicated to providing the highest quality long-term care. By following a small “home-like” model, Benedict Haven has ended the “revolving door” cycle previously experienced by its residents.

Central Association of the Miraculous Medal
The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal has four purposes: To render honor to Mary Immaculate and to encourage the use of her Miraculous Medal with prayers and devotions to her, under the title of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. To support the education and formation of men for the priesthood and brotherhood in the Congregation of the Mission. To support the aged and infirm Vincentians of the Eastern Province of the Congregation, the parent body of The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal. To support the apostolic works of the Eastern Province on behalf of the poor. The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal fulfills its four purposes through the generosity of its promoters and members.

Chihuly Collection
The Chihuly Collection, presented by the Morean Arts Center, is located at 400 Beach Drive in downtown St. Petersburg. The Chihuly Collection is a permanent collection of world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly’s unique artwork in a 10,000-square-foot setting designed by award-winning architect Albert Alfonso. Clothes to Kids
United Capital Funding has provided donations and support to Clothes to Kids, Inc. located in Clearwater, Florida. The mission of Clothes to Kids is to provide new and quality used clothing to low income, school age children in Pinellas County, Florida free of charge. Clothes to Kids envisions a community in which every school age child has quality clothing so that he or she may attend school with confidence and self esteem needed to achieve academic success. United Capital is a proud supporter of CASA, or Community Action Stops Abuse. CASA’s vision is a community without violence so that home is a safe place. The Community Service Foundation has been working since 1957 to provide families and individuals located in the Tampa Bay area an opportunity for a better life and experience through home ownership. United Capital Funding is a Corporate Sponsor of the foundation established by former Tampa Bay Buccaneer football player, Derrick Brooks. Brooks was an eleven-time Pro Bowl selection he earned a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII. Brooks is well known for his charity work and his advocacy of the importance of education. He was the co-recipient of the 2000 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award and was named to the Florida State University Board of Trustees in 2003 by Governor Jeb Bush. Brooks is now a football analyst for ESPN. The DMG School Project provides educational opportunities to both artists and community while contributing to the development of glass as a creative medium in both St. Petersburg and the international glass community. The DMG School Project will involve the public in all aspects of glass through master classes, demonstrations, and lectures.

Ducks Unlimited
Ducks Unlimited is the world’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation. DU got its start in 1937 during the Dust Bowl when North America’s drought-plagued waterfowl populations had plunged to unprecedented lows. Determined not to sit idly by as the continent’s waterfowl dwindled beyond recovery, a small group of sportsmen joined together to form an organization that became known as Ducks Unlimited. Its mission: habitat conservation.

Heroes of the St. Pete Police

The mission of the Heroes of St. Pete Police, Inc. is to honor the heroes who have lost their lives in the line of duty and to provide financial support to assist officers and their families during a crisis or tragedy. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Leukemia Cup RegattaSM is a thrilling series of sailing events that combines the joy of boating with the important task of raising money to cure cancer. Since its inception, the Leukemia Cup Regatta has raised millions of dollars for lifesaving research and patient services, bringing help and hope to patients and their families.

Mason Dixon’s Christmas Wish Fund
Mason has worked his Christmas Wish Magic for over 15 years. In 2002, Mason Dixon Christmas Wish Fund, Inc. became a Florida non-profit corporation, and a designated 501c (3) charity. His charity is completely volunteer based. There are no salaries paid and no professional fundraisers are hired. Well over 90% of the money that is contributed goes right back out to the families in need.

We are also proud to support the Morean Arts Center also located in our home town of Saint Petersburg, Florida. The Morean Art Center, with roots dating back to 1917 as the Art Club of Saint Petersburg focuses on an innovative, community oriented approach to art and art education. The Museum of Fine Arts
United Capital supports the mission of The Museum of Fine Arts, located in downtown Saint Petersburg, Florida. The Museum has the only comprehensive art collection, extending from antiquity to the present, on the Florida west coast. The Museum opened in 1965, and recently completed a $21 million expansion that more than doubled the size of the museum. Relay For Life
St. Petersburg, Florida: Each year, more than 4 million people in over 20 countries take part in this global phenomenon and raise much-needed funds and awareness to save lives from cancer. During a Relay event, participants and survivors celebrate what they’ve overcome during the Survivors Lap. During the Luminaria Ceremony, we remember people lost to cancer, and honor people who have fought or are fighting cancer. The Fight Back Ceremony inspires Relay participants to take tangible action against a disease that has taken too much.

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Tampa Bay
United Capital Funding has financially supported the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Tampa Bay. The Ronald Mc Donald House provides comfort and care to children and their families and it is able to make grants to other local not-for-profit organizations that help children in need. The Ronald McDonald House® of Tampa Bay provides a home-away-from-home for families of pediatric patients in area hospitals. The Tampa Bay Ronald McDonald House recently was named the Tampa Bay Business Journal Nonprofit of the Year.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
United Capital has been a long time supporter of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, located in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The Society offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the Society’s work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless. Some 12 million persons are helped annually by Vincentians in the United States. Southeastern Guide Dogs
The team at United Capital Funding participated in the 2019 Southeastern Guide Dogs St. Petersburg Walkathon. Over a thousand individuals participated, along with nearly 900 dogs, and supporters raised over $190,000, according to Southeastern Guide Dogs. The United Capital Funding team volunteered during the event, providing help to the organization whose goal is to provide guide and service dogs to impaired individuals and veterans with PTSD.

United Capital Funding has provided financial support to the Suncoast Hospice, located in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The Hospice was born out of the vision of an exceptional group of people who realized the value of hospice care and wanted it for their families and neighbors. In 1977 they created a small, all-volunteer organization. Suncoast Hospice is the nation’s largest not-for-profit, community-based provider of hospice and palliative care. The Hospice provides care for tens of thousands of people annually, and leads innovative service delivery, social change advocacy, technology development and other end-of-life initiatives. Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Suncoast Chapter. The Florida Suncoast Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. The Komen Florida Suncoast Affiliate’s services area covers all of Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota Counties.

The Tampa Bay Lightning, based in Tampa Bay, is an official team of the National Hockey League. Members of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the NHL, home games are played at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Go Bolts!

The Tampa Bay Rays are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team based in St. Petersburg, Florida. They are currently a member of the American League East Division. Tropicana Field is their home venue.

Tampa Bay Research Institute, Inc.
United Capital is a long time financial supporter of the Tampa Bay Research Institute, Inc., or TRBI. TRBI is a 501(c)(3) biomedical research organization located in Saint Petersburg, Florida. TBRI was established in 1981 as the first not-for-profit biomedical research organization of its kind in Florida, and scientists at TBRI pioneered the discovery of the relationship between virus infections and cancer. Over a dozen patents have been issued to TBRI for its discoveries related to the immune system and TBRI is researching ways to enhance the effectiveness of vaccines. More than 70 doctoral and post-doctoral scientists have been trained at TBRI and TBRI was awarded the first HIV/AIDS study grant in Florida. Scientists at TBRI have published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed research publications and have also hosted numerous international scientific symposia to date. VisionIT was born from community activities. Prior to the start of VisionIT, David H. Segura began to volunteer his time on a weekly basis, teaching youth in Detroit about the field of technology and the growing trends of the Internet. This drive of being active in the community has continued and as VisionIT has grown, so has the impact we have been able to make within the communities where we live and work. United Capital has provided financial support to Wilderness Trail, a 501 (C)(3) North Carolina nonprofit tax exempt organization that uses backpacking as a tool for discipleship. Wilderness Trail has week long summer events for youth between June and August each year, and during May, September and October it offers weekend experiences geared towards families. Georgia Police K9 Foundation
United Capital Funding was a proud sponsor of “Shoot for the K9s” a Sporting Clay Tournament that benefitted the Georgia Police K9 Foundation. All funds raised from this event go directly to retired and active K9 Officers by providing lifesaving training and supplies including ballistic vests, first aid kids, and heat alarm systems.
